Salem Fire New Ladder Dedication Ceremony
The Salem Fire Department will pay tribute to the city's veterans next week with the dedication of the new fire truck in honor of the spirit and bravery that defines the armed services.
Salem Fire Chief Alan Dionne said the Ladder 1 truck will be adorned with patriotic symbols and remembrance and will "serve as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our veterans."
The dedication will take place on March 29 — which is recognized as National Vietnam Veterans Day — at 3 p.m. at the ramp in front of Salem Fire Headquarters on Lafayette Street.
"We extend a heartfelt invitation to all veterans, firefighters, retirees, families and community members to join us for this special ceremony," Dionne said in announcing the dedication. "Together, let us honor and pay tribute to the courageous individuals who have served our nation with valor and distinction."
There will be a reception following the dedication at the VFW at 95 Derby Street with the public invited to attend.
